About Mike E. And The Hound Dogs
Mike "E."
Calamusa
Lead Vocals
Mike
comes from an Italian background and was born and raised in the
Toronto / Mississauga area. Mike has always been known as “Elvis,”
a nickname the guys gave him at work years ago. Mike’s likeness
and mannerisms are similar to the one and only “King of Rock’n
Roll,” Elvis Presley.
Mike started taking “Elvis” seriously
a few years ago. Mike is proud to say it started in a small town
in Prince Edward County called Milford. There he participated in
a musical called, “Elvis Is In The Building.” Mike enjoyed
performing in this show and continued performing, joining a band
called “The Cadillac’s.” Travelling the countryside
with a 13-piece band, Mike learned to love the power of a live band
and the energy of the audiences. Mike also started competing in
various Elvis Festivals. In the summer of 2004 Mike took 3rd place
in the 10th Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival. Later that year,
Mike traveled to New York and entered the Pro Division of the Lake
George Elvis Festival and placed 3rd. Mike “E” and his
Hounddogs had a busy year in 2005, but still managed to enter a
few contests. Mike was invited to participate in the Lady Luck Music’s
“People’s Choice Awards” and placed 1st over all.
He then returned to Collingwood for a 3rd place finish once again
and traveled back to New York to finish in the top 7 of the Pro
Division of the Lake George Elvis Festival.
Mike feels that all the members of the Hound Dogs
are very talented musicians and he is very fortunate to perform
with them. Here's some info on the members of The Hound Dogs:
